Professional Review

Flix and Chill is a dating simulator. How should a guy behave while dating a girl to attract and enchant, or at least, not to disappoint her? Download Flix and Chill to learn!

Flix and Chill Concept 5/5

Have you ever had a bad date in your life? And probably you were thinking of your mistakes later and figuring out how you should have acted to make it right? If the answer is yes (and chances are it is), Flix and Chill is the game for you to work this out.

So, you’re about to meet your date. It can happen at home, in a café, in a club, and so on. You need to start the dialogue and to go on the way that will make the girl appreciate you. If you fail, she will just leave you. Or he, if you play a girl’s part on, say, level three.

So opt for any of two or three options in any dialogue. But keep in mind that any option may have unexpected consequences. Your dates may dislike any slight detail in your behavior, and that will be enough for them to stand up, leave, and never return.

The details are great. Java Hut coffee, website OkStupid, other fictional names, and trademarks add humor and irony to the gameplay.

Visuals Effects 2/5

Though dating simulators are more interesting when you succeed, the graphics won’t let you enjoy that. Probably it’s one of the most rudely drawn games; even if its characters and the environment were made of Minecraft bricks, they would look more realistic. Yet the man task of the visuals is to describe the situation, and it’s done, the picture acts like it reminds the player: u ain’t here for watchin’.

Audio Effects 4/5

While the electronic dance OST of the game is not bad by itself, it sounds quite rough and unmastered. Anyway, if it was, it would cause some disharmony between the music and the rest of the game. So let it be this way, though we’d like to hear it remixed more decently.

Controls 5/5

There’s nothing at all to be confused about or even ask a question. It’s all very evident; when it’s time to read the next reply in the dialogue, you just push the Forward arrow in the right of the titles. When you need to make a choice, just click the option you select. That’s all you need to control this game, as it seems to have nothing more hidden or unlockable.

Replay Value 5/5

That’s what Flix and Chill is about: it’s choices. Could your failed date go not so wrong if you chose another topic to discuss, another movie to watch, or another dance to perform in front of her or him? Maybe, maybe, maybe. The game has lots of these maybes to replay levels over and over.

Summary

This ironical date simulator is what you need to get the type of kicks no arcade or action game delivers. So this Flix and Chill review cannot describe even half of its unusual fascination. Even if you prefer another type of games, this one will seem something very unusual.

Conclusion

There’s a reason to download Flix and Chill: this game is based upon the author’s dating experience, and maybe will lead you to some conclusion you’ll benefit from.

Pros : Varying situations and moral choices;
Different environments impact the gameplay;
Tons of humor to recompense for poor graphics;
High replayability.

Cons : Primitive graphics;
May get too dull to lose constantly.
