Professional Review

Invaders! is a simple, retro-styled shooter game, in which you must destroy waves of alien spaceship one by one. Their annihilation must be finished before their armada wipes you out from the face of the Earth. Download Invaders! for PC to enjoy one of the most iconic games in history!

Graphics 3.5/5

Invaders! full game is extremely simplistic. In the blank dark area, which represents the outer space, you need to shoot green aliens approaching you. By the way, everything in this game is green: your enemies, the laser bolts and the spectacular particles into which the hostiles explode.

This simplicity is meant to bring you the authentic retro vibe. Pixelated alien models and sound effects were borrowed from the old-school arcades and consoles (like SNES) — they add a nice nostalgic feel to the Invaders! It'd be great to have more models, colors, and effects though. The only source of dynamics are a) the increasing tempo b) shaky and a bit distracting screen.

Gameplay 4/5

Just like in the original arcade title released by the end of the '70s, Invaders! concept revolves around eradicating waves of attackers from outer space. Each wave is accurately organized into its iconic formation. Use the blaster to blow every alien into tiny spherical particles. But beware the less of them you're dealing with, the faster they begin moving.

Sometimes you'll have to dodge the counter-attacks: some of the invaders are equipped with blasters too. While there's still a whole multitude of them — lasers fly slower. But as the tempo increases, you are subjected to the tangible risk of getting wounded and shot. Near you there's a green cover, behind which you can hide every now and then.

Controls 3.5/5

Invaders! is quite simple to control, just like the arcade/Tetris version. Basically, you can beat the invasion with the help of only your PC mouse. However controlling gets somewhat harder, since the aliens begin moving faster as their numbers go thinner. Add the shakiness to it, and you'll learn that quick reaction still means something in today's games.

Replay Value 3/5

Invaders! gameplay doesn't offer much. There's no co-op, no exclusive trophies, modes and even no other colors except for green. It may help as a quick remedy against boredom or as a time-killer when you need to assassinate 5-10 minutes. Other than that, Invaders! latest version has very little to be a long time dedication.

Conclusion

Invaders! is a good occasional shooter, if you have no time for the main course: Skyrim, Far Cry, GTA or at least Fortnite. Our Invaders! review assures you that it works well as a time-killer for its money — the Invaders! price is only $2. But it's recommended to wait for a discount/promo-sale.

Conclusion

Download Invaders! to travel back in time to the early '80s and stop the alien 8-bit invasion from succeeding!
